1. Paying attention to my nook on its wakey mode. Monday I arrived at work an hour early. Brown birds were chattering precociously on the still-empty parking lot. The gardener's dog was munching a rubber slipper behind the gate. The place smelt like it had never known pollution of any kind. I liked what I witnessed.
2. Multi-lingual multi-tasking:
- ears listening to an earphone song, nakalimutan mo na bang tumawa? (have you forgotten to laugh?)
- fingers composing a text message, nikaon na si CJ? (has CJ eaten yet?)
- eyes scanning a PR paper, "... government to mobilize resources for defense and military establishments"
- mouth clarifying instructions, mai ao tini; song akhan sippeht (I don't want it here. Send it to Bldg. 18)
*Three languages, one dialect lasting less than 3 minutes. I thought it was fun.
3. Apple pie with warm custard sauce; beef cheese tacos garnished with tomatoes and cilantro eaten over good conversation with a girl friend
4. A friend emailed how his little relatives 'came tearing through his house unannounced.' The upside was getting a butterfly kiss from 3-year old Olivia.
5. Bonus at the hair saloon. I was there for a routine shampoo and blow dry. But a saloon professional went the extra mile by giving me a head massage as well.

Sounds like a good week!
ReplyDeleteLOL It's hard enough for me to multi-task in just one language, especially when everything is verbal. My son likes to talk to me while I'm reading blogs, and I can't do both at the same time.
Melissa, that's funny! Son probably likes to engage Mom in a a little challenge :-)
ReplyDeletea toast to you, wonder mom:)
ReplyDeletehappy weekend:)
Happy weekend to you too, Imriz :)
ReplyDeleteHead massages are wonderful, I miss having those when I lived in Paraguay. I also enjoy multi lingual multi tasking, somehow I think its good for our brains too.
ReplyDeleteBrenda, I think so too; MlMm is good brain exercise.
ReplyDeleteMulti lingual multi-tasking. Wow. I can hardly say that mouthful never mind do it. LOL. That gets the brain firing, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteSusanne, lol... it gets easier everytime
ReplyDeleteI'm always impressed with people who are multilingual.
ReplyDeleteThe food and conversation with your friend sound great!
I've never had a head massage, but I bet I would like it.
I love the conversation with your friend. A head massage? hmmm I wonder if I had one it would find any brains in there LOL Great week you had. Have a wonderful Friday :)
ReplyDeleteJerralea, bet you would; try one some time. It feels great!
ReplyDeleteThom, hahaha! guess it would lol! A wonderful Friday to you too, I'm still laughing :)))
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite times of the week, though it is especially difficult, is waking up on Wednesdays for an early morning prayer meeting - walking around campus in the fresh morning air, and often across newly-fallen snow! PURE nature!
ReplyDeleteMulti-lingual.. always fun! I am working on my 3rd and 4th languages right now. :)
What an extra special treat!
Hazel... I have a hard time thinking and communicating effectively in ONE language... there is NO CHANCE I could do it in 3 simultaneously!!! I'm impressed!
ReplyDeleteOh to be blessed by a HEAD MASSAGE! Maybe God has that one reserved for my future! How LOVELY!
Apparently you also had a nice week !
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of birds chattering. I can’t imagine multi-tasking in multi-languages (maybe that's what the birds were doing, too? ha). That’s quite a skill you have!
ReplyDeleteI think I’ll cook tacos for dinner—you made them sound good. Have a great weekend.
Oh my! lol, the dog and the rubber slipper.
ReplyDeleteAge has lessened my multi tasking a little.
Your friend meet up sounds great.
Multitasking in different languages would be quite a challenge.
ReplyDeleteI usually have ice cream on my apple pie but warm custard sounds good!
Ooh a head massage - I love them!
Happy weekend!
I love how you are aware of and take pleasure in details that others might miss. That might be one reason you can multi-task in various languages -- as others have said, I can get confused in just one! That lunch sounds really good, enhanced by visiting with a friend.
ReplyDeleteJewel, that certainly sounds like a fine mix of nature and spirituality. Have fun on the next languages you are learning :)
ReplyDeleteMelli, I'm in a situation where I need to learn more than 2 languages, that's most probably why I'm doing it. I wouldn't bother if it wasn't necessary :) Here's hoping you'll get a head massage soon :)
Gattina, yes. apparently lol!
Lisa, oh the birds, maybe indeed. I hope you enjoy your tacos :)
Cindy, you noticed that! I had fun watching that dog with the slipper :D
Island Sparrow, warm custard was nice. It tasted yummy on the cold pie. I loved it.
Barbarah, it's how life is for me nowadays. Sometimes it could get chaotic. I have to put effort to pay attention to the little things around me that have zero stress in them. Thanks for your input.
